| MHS is the state's lead historical society with archives in Portland. www.MaineJews.org will be working cooperatively with MHS under the umbrella title of Maine Jewish History Initiative (MJHI). The initial joint undertaking of the MJHI will be an in-state survey of the currently preserved historical documents and artifacts on Maine Jewry, the identification of those items now in private or public hands that should be better preserved and the collection of new data that is appropriate now for inclusion in DOMJ's on-line database. MJHI will subsequently establish a state-wide advisory body to provide guidance to the participants in MJHI, to nurture an enhanced interest in Maine Jewish history, and to generate additional resources for historical work on Maine Jewry. | ||

| JGSGB is a non-profit organization dedicated to the growth, study and exchange of ideas and information among people interested in Jewish genealogical research and family history. | The Sampson Center for Diversity collects material documenting the ongoing histories of diverse communities. Current collections represent the African American, Jewish, and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender communities. In this regard, the Sampson Center provides archive support for original Maine Jewish institutional and family records. The Maine Jewish History Project assists the Sampson Center is locating documents and artifacts for preservation. | ||

The Maine Jewish History Project provides JewishGen with information on Jewish burials in Maine for their international Jewish burial registry.
